Hi.
This may be old news, but I haven't seen it anywhere yet on the web. Attached is a gif drawing that I made showing how to convert a PC-8201A or 8300 standard battery pack to use NiCads. I drew this by simply looking at a PC-8201A-90 NiCad cartridge, and a standard battery pack. It's very simple, but I'm not sure how the value of the resistor might make a difference, and it is a bit odd- 71.5 KOhms. I used two 1/4 watt resistors in parallel (180K and 120K=72K) to get as close as possible, and it seems to work fine. Enjoy.
